I have been involved in glass related art for the past 20 years.
I started creating stained glass panels and lampshades but then
I discovered hot glass and I was really hooked. I became a
glassblower at the Toledo Museum of Art in Toledo, Ohio and knew
that I would find my future in the glass art world. I wanted to
pursue a career in glassblowing and furnace glass art when I
moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1997. After taking classes
with Brian Kerkvliet and Loren Stump in 1998, I decided to work
primarily with lampworked glass. It really centered me and gave
me lots of possibilities to explore - particularly beadmaking."
"I fell in love with creating glass beads and decided to focus
on the art form. It has been such a gratifying and
inspirational profession! I have had the opportunity to study
and teach with some wonderful, talented glass artists. I never
fail to learn something new and exciting that continues to
energize the passion for creating glass beads. Additionally, I
have had the pleasure of teaching others how to create beads and
that has also been extremely satisfying."
